Emily Crawford, Principal Psychologist has had over 18 years experience working with adults, children, adolescents and their families. Passionate about early intervention Emily prides herself on building rapport with the individuals she works. With her younger clients she enjoys working collaboratively with families and school.
Having worked for over 12 years in the Independent school system in Melbourne Emily has extensive knowledge of the developmental issues affecting individuals aged from 3 years through to adulthood. During this time she consulted and collaborated clinically with many leading specialists and psychiatrists regarding a range of complex developmental issues and social emotional challenges children and young people face. Emily has experience supporting children and young people with separation anxiety, school refusal, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, divorce and separation, social/friendship concerns, sexual identity and academic stress and disengagement.
Emily has always been passionate about working at a system level and engaging with parents to support their children. Since becoming a parent herself, Emily has taken an interest in perinatal psychology and its impact on attachment and adjustment. This includes supporting mothers and fathers with the challenges of pregnancy loss, traumatic birthing experiences and post natal depression.
Emily uses a range of tailored approaches to support her clients including but not limited to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, utilising a Psychodynamic Approach, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy and Mindfulness. Emily is a registered psychologist with AHPRA and holds full membership with the Australian Psychological Society. She is also a registered AHPRA supervisor.
